This is the ability to be clicked. The content needs to be so good that the user or the audience has to click on it.

  1. Snackable content:

This essentially means that the content that is/needs to be going out is just bites and not big chunks. It is for people to see, chew on and move ahead with. Not too time consuming, but impactful.

  1. Immersive experience:

This is an experience that some digital marketers try to create, it means that it is more of a visual experience which is going to get the user highly involved.

  1. SoLoMo:

This is yet another terminology used to highlight the three big areas of digital marketing: social media, local commerce and mobile applications.

  1. Engagement:

One of the most popular terms in the industry, and essentially means that the user needs to be attracted and attentive to the content.

  1. Earned media:

This is the second party promotion of the company or the product. This does not have any cost incurred to the company, but works in its favor.

  1. Contextual marketing:

All marketing is generally contextual, but when there is a campaign or promotion designed for a particular media only, it is not as contextual marketing.

  1. Big data:

This is the detailed database of anything. Be it results, costs, statistics and what not. It is used in every context and seems to be one of the favorites of the people.

  1. Social commerce:

This is another way of selling, where social media and peer-to-peer communication is involved in the selling of goods and services.

  1. Curator:

This is the person who is going to make sure that the text, contexts and everything else that the company needs to tell to the people is translated into a format and onto a platform that the mainstream can understand.

  1. Advertainment:

This refers to the advertisements that are placed along with the entertainment for the people. These are usually welcome.

  1. Growth hacker:

This terms is used to address a skilled marketer who works as a growth catalyst to small businesses and start-ups.

  1. Gamification:

The systems and processes that turn extrinsic rewards into intrinsic rewards. Basically all the efforts that have been directed towards systematic marketing and consistent results.

  1. Synergy:

This is the systematic collaboration of groups which have come together to for a sum which is greater than those of their parts.

  1. 360 Campaign:

This is a marketing effort which is online and offline. It covers all bases and makes sure that the approach is holistic towards all media.
